Value studies

Lilo and Stitch is my study of choice for values. The setting is Hawaii, an island that isn't unfamiliar with a sunny day or two. For that reason the colours are lighter and the backgrounds are full of light in general of course because a sunny island would look horribly out of place if painted with murky light a la Rembrandt style.

Also I think Rembrandt is worth a mention, I enjoy his paintings a great deal and the are at the opposite end end of the spectrum that Lilo and Stitch would be on. The selective areas of light give his paintings great atmosphere.
